Ida Lucille Thomas, 86, of Carolina Rest Home, died Monday, March 9, 2009.

Mrs. Thomas a native of Dinwiddie County Virginia, was the daughter of the late James Alexander Traylor and Audrey Elmore Traylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyrus Berkeley Thomas, Jr. and her brother, Jimmy Traylor.

Mrs. Thomas was retired from Shell Furniture Company in Roanoke Rapids with over 45 years of service. She was a long time member of Rosemary Baptist Church where she taught sunday school for over 40 years in the class bearing her name.

She is survived by her sister, Thelma T. Gatewood of Trinity, NC; her brother-in-law, Bill Thomas and his wife, Miriam, of Lakeland, FL; her sister-in-law, Eloise Carr and her husband, Herman, of Chadburn, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon with Dr. Layne Wallace officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
